Elisa Barnes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Chestnut Hill College. Elisa then earned her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, specializing in General Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. She has a passion for working with active military members, veterans, and their families particularly those experiencing PTSD. She has 1,500+ client contact hours while obtaining her Master’s degree, and a variety of clinical experience. Elisa has worked in various roles and settings in the mental health field over the last 4 years.
Elisa is working towards becoming a licensed profession (LMFT), and has obtained 2,000+ hours thus far. She is working towards becoming certified in EMDR, EFT, Gottman, and other helpful methodologies for the benefit of her clients. Elisa believes in tailoring her approach to therapy to fit the needs of each client, couple, or family. She strives to create a safe space for her clients to share their thoughts, feelings, vulnerabilities and be their true authentic selves.
Elisa practices from a culturally competent trauma informed framework and has experience in utilizing components of ESFT, DBT, CBT, Solution Focused, Motivational interviewing, EFT, Attachment to best fit the needs of her clients.
